These mini sandwiches are loaded with tender roast beef, melted cheese, and served with a savory homemade au jus sauce for dipping. Perfectly sized for finger foods, they're easy to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
Scale:
3 pounds beef chuck roast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup beef broth
1 packet au jus seasoning mix
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
12 slider buns for French dip
12 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped
1 cup reserved cooking liquid from the slow cooker
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
Season the beef chuck roast generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Allow the seasoning to sit for about 15 minutes.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Transfer the seared beef to a slow cooker. Pour in the beef broth and sprinkle the au jus seasoning mix over the top. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
Once cooked, remove the beef from the slow cooker and let it rest. Use two forks to shred the beef into bite-sized pieces.
Strain the cooking liquid from the slow cooker into a saucepan. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste. Heat over medium.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Assemble the sliders by placing shredded beef and a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each bun.
Place the assembled sliders in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley, and serve the sliders with the homemade au jus sauce for dipping.
