A comforting yet simple dinner idea with layers of creamy sauce, tender chicken, and cheesy goodness, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale:
3 cups penne pasta
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, about 8–10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Whisk until well combined.
Add the cooked chicken and drained pasta to the sauce mixture. Stir gently until everything is evenly coated.
Pour the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese over the top of the pasta.
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle evenly over the cheese layer.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
