Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sea salt, sugar, and instant yeast. Mix well to distribute the dry ingredients evenly and ensure there are no clumps of yeast or salt.
  2. Add the warm water and ½ cup of olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together.
  3. Knead the dough in the bowl for about 5 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth or plastic wrap. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 1 to 2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Oil a 13x18-inch baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  6. Once the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release the air. Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet and stretch it gently to fill the pan.
  7. Using your fingers, create dimples all over the surface of the dough. Drizzle olive oil over the top.
  8. Spread the minced garlic evenly across the dough. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped rosemary on top, followed by coarse sea salt.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the focaccia is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly in the pan. Transfer to a wire rack to cool before slicing.
